Camp Host Organization
Camp host is the organization that serves as the host of the Camp Event. It is a non-profit community rehabilitation employment service provider that is also an authorized FL DVR Youth Peer Mentoring Service Provider that employs Peer Mentor Coordinators and Peer Mentors in the direct provision of Pre-ETS peer mentoring support to Youth and Students with disabilities through a counselor referral.
Camp NetWorx! Program and Event Director
The Camp Director is an individual who leads the camp program that includes all pre-camp activities. This individual serves as the director of the camp program and works with the entire camp team to lead and execute the Camp NetWorx! program.
Camp NetWorx! Program Content Facilitators
These are the subject matter experts who lead the weekly campfire chats that lead the program presentations for the art of Storytelling, Discovery and Adventures. These individuals are typically contracted program content specialist who provide deliver content and facilitate activities during camp events including both the campfire chats and cabin workshops.
Camp NetWorx! Special or Celebrity Guest
Each Campfire Chat has a special guest appearance related to the week 1-3 programs for Storytelling, Discovery and Adventure. This provides the campers with an outside observer and a “brag” element for campers to frame their camp experience around.
Camp Host Staff Roles:
Camp Coaches
*Peer Mentoring Coordinators who are certified employment specialist serve as ‘camp team coordinators’ and are employed grant to facilitate and co-mentor with assigned peer ‘cabin mentors’ in participating in camp activities both during and between camp events through Youth Peer Mentoring to meet peer mentoring program objectives.
Camp Cabin Mentors
*Peer Mentors served as ‘cabin mentors’ and were employ through the grant to facilitate and guide camp activities and participation with their peer mentees “campers” both individually between camp events and in small group cabin workshop settings (breakout rooms) to facilitate team and individual camp activities.
Mentor supported activities included*:
- Pre-camp registration and ‘Pack-for-Camp’ activities w/ PMC/PM*
- Camp NetWorx! Storytelling (Show and Tell on Zoom/SLACK)*
- Camp NetWorx! Discovery (MyCubeDiscovery Project)*
- Camp NetWorx! Adventure (PMW Networking Activity Guide)*
*PMC and PMs are trained by Peer MentoringWorks (PMW) and certified through FL DVR’s Youth Peer Mentoring Program to provide peer mentoring support to youth and students with disabilities. On-going 1:1 peer mentoring support was available through the Youth Peer Mentoring referral between camp events as necessary to support VR Youth Peer Mentoring mentees.
Campers
“Campers” are youth and students with disabilities who are receiving peer mentoring services through the FL DVR’s Youth Peer Mentoring program who have received a camp referral through the VR Counselors.
