Connecting to Achieve Your Goals
Fireside Chat:
Connecting through storytelling with your passions, your verbs, your nouns, and adjectives to frame your story and achieve your objectives. Networking with purpose and intentionally towards a purpose is a strategy that expands your opportunities. How do you find the person who you haven’t met yet that may be the key that opens the door to your dreams?
Networking with purpose is a strategy that increases your success. How do you reach beyond your first and second tier of personal and professional connections to meet that person who you haven’t met yet? The presentation of a YouTube video that focuses on extending your network from those who you know to those you need to meet to make that essential connection and an introduction to the Peer MentoringWorks Networking ActivityGuide and its four-phased strategy supporting connection to professional, social, and community networks.
The concept of elevator speeches was described and demonstrated and several campers were asked and offered to demonstrate an impromptu elevator speech.
Cabin Workshop:
The workshop format was changed to cross-connect campers by workshop activity. Instead of the campers returning to their cabin groups, campers were asked to choose two of the three workshops hosted by the three cabin leaders.
Activity 1
Introduction to the Peer MentoringWorks Networking ActivityGuide and the use of mapping your networking circles worksheet.
Activity 2
This workshop focused on creating and presenting elevator speeches using the outline and framework offered in the fireside chat and the worksheet in the PMW Networking ActivityGuide.
Activity 3
Workshop to help campers identify MyCube profile pick and images for the top or any side of their MyCube project.
